About the production

ZOONOSIS [zoo – uh – no – sis]

an online bedroom pop-opera about lifeforms in lockdown

by Cal Folger Day
directed by Tom Creed

NOW ON GENERAL RELEASE: www.zoonosis.ie

Pets love a pandemic (mostly). Dogs never get to have their humans at home with them so much. Maybe the cats are secretly wishing everyone would go back to work. But our intersections with other animals and plants are not so simple. ZOONOSIS takes a sideways look at how the pandemic has impacted our fellow species on earth.

We’ve made ZOONOSIS over the last few months, recording original music and video from our homes and finding inspiration from looking at the world around us. ZOONOSIS exists as an interactive website where audiences can make their own journey through our online bedroom pop-opera. For four nights in August, the cast of ZOONOSIS will meet you on Zoom and bring you into its unique, strange and surprising world.

ZOONOSIS is not so much about passing the time until we get back to normal, it’s about finding a new normal, a better way of being in the world. We could not have made ZOONOSIS at any other moment in our lives, and everyone’s experience of it will be unique.
