Winners (Lovers) is the story of a young couple whose romantic narrative is taken away by an unwanted pregnancy. Their families and their community turn on on them and they become pressured to get a shotgun wedding. The couple end up becoming more and more confused and disillusioned with their relationship and die in a boating accident, escaping, through death, the fate of the parents.
