Photographer and DYTer Aoife Herrity presents portraits of DYT alumni, staff and members as part of DYT’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
Artist’s Statement: This portrait series coincides with the 40th anniversary of Dublin Youth Theatre by celebrating past members, staff and alumni. Participants were invited to return individually to the theatre’s old performance and rehearsal space for a formal portrait sitting. This process encouraged memory through both physical and psychological centering in the space. By photographing the alumni in the same location, the sitters emerge not only as individuals, but as team and community members- reinforcing the values and ethos of Dublin Youth Theatre.
The images will be digitally projected in Meeting House Square on Saturday December 16th from 7pm – 11pm.
