Description
A workshop led by Theatre maker Cathal McGuire exploring ‘object theatre’…
Bio: Cathal McGuire is a Dublin-based theatre maker, dramaturg and facilitator who creates performances for a variety of audiences through a combination of techniques, from writing and storytelling to devising and physical theatre.
Cathal’s practice focuses on making the familiar strange, using the tension between playfulness and rigour to illuminate the mysteries of the contemporary world – how we know what we know, and why we believe what we believe.
He makes performances under the company identity Game Theory: these include Always Alone Together (Dublin Fringe Festival 2014), a storytelling documentary about internet culture, and MOOP (Best Ensemble nominee, Dublin Fringe Festival 2019), a wordless all-ages show about discovery and play.
Other credits include the stage plays Mule, Short Lives and The King Sweeney, and the radio play W.B Yeats: Paranormal Investigator, as well as performances created with and for young people in partnership with leading youth organisations.
