Philip and Eva are the dynamic duo behind The 24 Hour Plays, a global fundraiser that happens in Ireland (9 years and counting!) in aid of Dublin Youth Theatre.

It is a feat of organisation, creativity and trust, and every year we are floored by how smoothly it is run by the always fun and levelheaded pair! Many of our older members have experienced the madness as Assistant Directors for the show, and many of our younger members have seen the show and heard the stories of the ups and downs of the 24 hours.

In real life (!!) Eva Scanlan is the General Manager and Producer of Fishamble: The New Play Company where she has produced on award winning shows, touring extensively in Ireland, The UK and beyond. Philip Naudé has over 30 years of experience as a Production Manager and Technical Director for stage theater and live events and is faculty member at New York’s prestigious The New School.

Join them on Wednesday and gain some insight into how the 24 hours plays are run, what drives them to put themselves through the stress of it every year. The producing pair are also happy to chat about how they came to do what they do, Eva’s work as Producer with Fishamble and what it’s like to live and work in the arts in New York City.  Come on down and Ask The Pros 💜

See you Wednesday at 7.30.

ABOUT ASK THE PRO

DYT members – present and past – and friends are invited to join us, from the comfort of your own home, for a series of weekly Question & Answer sessions with experienced theatre professionals.

Each week, special guests (many of whom are ex-DYTers) will tell us a little bit about their journey, how they got to where they are, who and what inspired them, the challenges they faced to make it and what they’re up to these COVID days.

If you’ve got a question about theatre, being (or becoming) a theatre professional, now’s your chance to #askthepro.
