Dublin Youth Theatre wins 2010 “Better Together” Award

Dublin Youth Theatre wins 2010 “Better Together” Award

On 25 November 2010, in the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin Castle, RTE's Mary Kennedy announced DYT as the winner of the Better Together Award for Medium Sized Organisations.

The film titled Through the Green Door was produced by the 2nd year group with filmmaker Killian Waters and features a tour through DYT led by a white rabbit all taken in one shot. The short film was to demonstrate how DYT relies on its community of members and volunteers and show that we are “better together”. The short film first went to a public vote and was shortlisted alongside 9 other national charities with annual funding under €500,000 for judging. The competition was fierce with the Irish Deaf Society, the Irish Girl Guides and CanTeen Ireland featuring on the shortlist.

DYT were thrilled to walk away with the prize of €3000 and would like to express their thanks to The Wheel, EBS and Intel for their support.
